?:
The transfer from Stabæk to Lokeren was a quite spontaneous thing. In the time of 4 days you were not only loaned to Lokeren, you were bought by Lokeren. so since when did you know that you will go to lokeren?
Marel: I knew it only a few days before.

?: So you were going to Lokeren in january and were thinking they will only loan you?
Marel: Yes, but they changed their mind and wanted to buy me. This is the way it is in football. It happens very fast.

?: And now you`re here. Why did you decide to go Lokeren?
Marel: I think it it was a good opportunity to change, to go to another country, to learn a new language and to play with another club. And it`s a league that plays in the whole year and not in summertime like in Norway. I like it here.

?: You didn`t go to Lokeren because - like you said in an interview - Stabæk is almost bankrupt?
Marel: Did I say that?!?
?: Yes.
Marel: In which interview?
?: It was in a local newspaper here. You said something like "Stabæk is almost bankrupt, so why shouldn`t I go to another club where I already know 3 other players?"
Marel: No, no! I didn`t say it like that! I said that it was o.k. for Stabæk because they`re having financial problems and that it was no problem for them to sell me because they needed the money.

?: But you didn`t want to go?
Marel: I didn`t want to go. I never said that I wanted to leave Stabæk. But that was the situation and I think it was the best for Stabæk and me.

?: How did it come that Lokeren got interested in you?
Marel: They saw me playing aganist Anderlecht and they visited a game in Norway.
?: And they liked you so much then?
Marel: Yes...yes... (smiling)

?: Do you earn more or less money here than at Stabæk?
Marel: Oh, I don`t want to comment on this, sorry. (smiling)

?: And was money a reason to change?
Marel: Nooooo....not really.... (laughing)

?: What do you hope for your time at Lokeren?
Marel: I hope that the team and I personally will have a lot of success. It is going well wih the team since I came here and I have been playing on a new position then, playing on midfield. Yes, it`s going well.

?: Are you dreaming of playing Champions League?
Marel: Yeah!!! That would be nice! We have to get second place for that. But you never know...we have the opportunity now.

?: What is different at lokeren in comparison to Stabæk?
Marel: I would say the players here are technically better. In Norway it is a lot of taktik and how you play, but here it is better technique and stuff like that. So it is difficult to compare, it is so different how they play. In Norway it is more power and things like that.

?: And what about the team? How ist the harmony in the team? In Norway I asked you if you would play in a team where you can earn a lot of money but don`t like the other players and you said "yes".
Marel: Yes? (laughing) Yes...hmm... It`s a good harmony between the players. A lot of them are from Africa and they like to have fun. It`s a good harmony. And here are 3 other icelandic players, so it was good to come here. So this is not that kind of club where I get lots of money and hate all players. (smiling). It`s nice here.

?: You know that the Lokeren supporters have high expectations in you. How do you handle with that pressure? They`re all waiting for your first goal...
Marel: Yes, but you know, you don`t think about that. If you think about that then you`re in big trouble and you think too much about your own game and you don`t work better.

?: And you? Are you waiting for your first goal?
Marel: Yes!!! Of course, of course I am! But it`s not that easy when you play on midfield. You don`t get those many chances, it`s duifficult.

?: Why do you play on midfield? You said you`re best as a centerstriker?
Marel: Yes and I am! Ask the trainer...(smiling)...he decides that. I think it`s because it is best for the team now. All the strikers are playing well at the moment.

?: I heared that Lokeren wants to sell Bangoura. If he`s leaving you could get his position.
Marel: Yes, most likely! (smiling very big)

?: And then you`re making a goal...
Marel: Yes. (laughing)

?: Have you ever experienced unsatisfied supporters who got angry on you, called you names etc.?
Marel: No...no... I haven`t been playing that bad. (laughing)

?: Or you don`t speak enough flemish to understand what the people are calling... (laughinh too)
O.k., that was it. Thank you very much for your time and good luck on saturday against Gent.
